Our Mission Statement

Medical Education at Rathfarnham Medical

Rathfarnham Medical is  involved in the education of medical students (UCD & Trinity) and students may visit the practice to observe consultations as part of their curriculum.  We always advise patients in advance if a student is present and will only invite a student to observe your consultation with your full permission.

The practice is also a training practice for specialist trainees in general practice from the Irish College of General Practitioners training scheme. These trainees are qualified experienced doctors and are undertaking further experience and training in General Practice. They remain in the practice for 6-12 months. All GP registrars are fully qualified doctors with at least 3 years post graduate hospital experience. Many registrars will have considerably more experience and bring their expertise to the team.
